For more than 15 years, Lanterns Retreat has quietly welcomed guests beneath the peppermint trees of Old Dunsborough. A small, hosted retreat where guests have their own private suite, peaceful gardens to wander, shared spaces to enjoy and someone nearby if they need a little local knowledge or simply a warm welcome.

The Art of Getting the Balance Right
We live here too — but in our own private residence, separate from the guest accommodation. That means we're close by when you need us, whether you're looking for a good place for dinner, wondering which beach to visit or simply need something during your stay.
You can come and go as you please, spend an afternoon in the garden, settle beside the fire or close the door to your suite and disappear for a while.
Our aim is to offer a genuine welcome, with plenty of room to be yourself.

A Quiet Kind of Getaway
When our suites are booked individually, Lanterns is intentionally a peaceful, adults-focused retreat. With just five suites, the atmosphere is naturally calm. Guests come here to slow down, reconnect, explore the South West and enjoy a little space away from the everyday.
There is no pressure to socialise. No schedule to follow. Just a beautiful place to stay and the freedom to enjoy it at your own pace.

A PLACE TO SLOW DOWN
The Retreat
Lanterns is small by design. Five private suites sit amongst established gardens in Old Dunsborough, with shared spaces that invite you to linger a little longer.
There is a guest lounge with a fire for cooler evenings, a swimming pool for warmer days, and gardens with plenty of quiet corners to sit and do absolutely nothing. Complimentary snacks, tea and coffee are available in the guest lounge too.
The Suites
EVERY SUITE AT LANTERNS HAS ITS OWN CHARACTER
Some open onto the gardens. Some offer a little more space. Three have two-person spa baths. Rather than choosing simply by room number, choose the experience that feels right for you.
